- Dennis Henshaw Review added: 2018.08.17★ ★ ★ ★ ★Nice area for a daily walk around the lake with the dog or just to sit and watch the wildlife. The Lake is in front of Kirk Hallam Community Academy and the meadows stretch all the way to the Nut Brook trail. Tracks are well maintained around the Nut Brook trail and are used for walking and cycling. Once a year the Friends of Kirk Hallam Lake and Meadows put on a Lakeside Summer Fair, where many stalls are put up around the lake for people to look at and buy. There is usually a band playing and places for you to eat and drink. Keep an eye out for this event, around the beginning of July, you will not be disappointed
